These pictures were taken in a little touristy shop in New Zealand. The shop also had possum hats, jackets, rugs, and possum and merino wool jumpers and yarn.

I saw some hand spun wool here, and I just couldn’t resist taking some photos.
It looked so cute!

Here is some more yarn.

Oh how I wish I could touch possum yarn!! Was it really soft? Merino is like a cloud-only a wee bit dryer
–is the possum like a fluffy Angora (from bunny-fur?) do you think? NICE pictures! I see you are developing your mama’s eye for color and composition-and Pap’s humor too-considering the Mac shot from the conference!
(I still like you even if you are Mac people BTW!)
WOW! That would have been so cool! Great job Irish Chickie!
Love,
Meggie Eggie
Dear Mrs Dandelionmom,
It was VERY soft! I’ve never actually seen anything made out of bunny fur other than a bunny, but I’m sure it’s good!
Thanks for your kind words about my pictures.
I’m glad you liked that picture of the Mac!
Meggie Eggie,
Thanks for your comment!
I love your photo of the handspun wool. I have lovely memories of my Grannie spinning her own wool on her spinning wheel – then she used to knit me beautiful jumpers, and even socks! Sometimes she used to let me have a go on her spinning wheel – but I was never as clever as her in getting the yarn to be nice and smooth. Mine always had big “blobs” in it!

I’d love to have a go on a spinning wheel myself, one day…
And I’m sure the blobs add character!
